MDC Fire Doors | Job Opportunity: Contracts Manager

As a Contracts Manager at our fire door manufacturing company, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all contractual activities related to our projects. You will work closely with our sales, design, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure the successful execution of projects in compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of the fire door industry and contracts.

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000

Location: Knowsley

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the overall contracts strategy and ensure its alignment with business objectives.
Assist with the review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the sales team to review proposals and tenders, ensuring they align with customer requirements and our capabilities.
Conduct thorough contract reviews, identifying risks, obligations, and potential issues that may impact project execution.
Liaise with customers, contractors, and stakeholders to establish and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and delivery teams to ensure that products and services are delivered on time, meeting quality standards and client specifications.
Monitor project progress, identify and address any deviations from contract requirements or project milestones.
Manage change requests, ensuring they are properly assessed, documented, and approved in compliance with contract terms.
Oversee project close-out activities, including final inspections, client sign-offs, and contract closure documentation.
Prepare and present regular reports on project statuses, progress, risks, and financial performance.
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, fire safety standards, and trends to ensure compliance and enhance project delivery.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, preferably in the fire door or construction industry.
Strong knowledge of contract management principles, laws, and regulations.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in conducting contract reviews, identifying risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
Strong project management skills, with experience in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and the ability to analyse complex contract documents.
Ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and allocate resources effectively.
Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards in the construction industry.
Familiarity with project management software and office productivity tools.
Relevant degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
