MDC Fire Doors | Job Opportunity: Fire Door Joiner

As a Fire Door Joiner at our fire door manufacturing facility, t you will be a key member of our skilled team responsible for the accurate and precise assembly of fire-resistant doors. Using your expertise in joinery and knowledge of fire safety regulations, you will contribute to the production of high-quality fire doors that meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in joinery, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional fire door solutions.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Location: Knowsley

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders to understand fire door requirements.
Select and measure fire-resistant materials, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Operate joinery machinery and hand tools to cut, shape, and finish fire door components.
Assemble fire door frames, panels, and related elements using traditional joinery techniques.
Apply fire-resistant seals, intumescent strips, and other required fire safety features.
Perform quality checks to verify the dimensional accuracy and alignment of completed fire doors.
Collaborate with colleagues to address any production issues or challenges promptly.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Stay updated with fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry trends.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting enhancements to processes and product quality.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Joiner, preferably with a specialisation in fire doors or a related field.
Strong knowledge and understanding of joinery techniques, including cutting, shaping, and assembling wood.
Familiarity with fire safety regulations, including those related to fire door construction and sealing.
Proficient in operating joinery machinery, hand tools, and relevant equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision to ensure accurate assembly and alignment of fire door components.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address production issues effectively.
Good physical stamina and the ability to withstand repetitive tasks and lift heavy materials.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
Commitment to workplace safety and adhering to proper protocols.
