Hiring Production Manager

As a Production Manager at our fire door manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the production process to ensure efficient and high-quality output. Leading a team of production staff, you will plan, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or woodworking industries, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch fire doors.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Location: Knowsley

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and workflows to meet customer demands and deadlines.
Work closely with the management team to establish production targets and goals.
Optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Coordinate with other departments, such as design, engineering, and sales, to ensure smooth production flow.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring their timely availability for production.
Implement and enforce health and safety guidelines to create a safe working environment.
Train, mentor, and provide guidance to production staff, ensuring their development and high performance.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to the production team.
Resolve production issues and coordinate solutions with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and quality control.
Continuously assess production operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to fire door production.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and optimisation techniques.
Familiarity with woodworking techniques, machinery, and related manufacturing processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate teams.
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve production efficiency.
Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficient in using production management software/systems.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality management systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle production challenges effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively and closely with cross-functional teams.
Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands and priorities.
